A non-linear adaptation of an Eka Kurniawan short story, Sunya is the story of Bejo, a man trapped between his desire for his office colleague Raisya who resembles his deceased mother, and his duty to take care of his dying grandmother. When he uses occult black magic in an attempt to heal his grandmother, Bejo’s past memories of neglect return. A mysterious poetic film that explores how love and devotion are directly proportional to sacrifice.
