BFM 89.9 NIGHT SCHOOL: Crisis Vulnerabilities

4 NOV 2017, 2:00PM

What becomes of vulnerability in a crisis-ridden world?

ILHAM plays host to this live edition of BFM Night School which re ects on the uses and abuses of ‘vulnerability’ in an era of con ict and chaos.

Inequality is widening, nuclear warfare is likelier than ever, and climate change threatens mass extinction. This has only intensi ed fears as all sides—right and left—evoke their insecurities for privilege and attention. Our political vocabulary appears to be increasingly dominated by a variety of emotional wounds.

What are we to make of solidarity or collective happiness, given this scenario? How do we imagine a creative synergy between boundaries and life’s  uidity? How do we go on hoping in a world that is obviously falling apart? Might ugly feelings be of some good use after all?

Join Fuad Rahmat, Sharaad Kuttan and friends as they explore these questions and more.
