SCHOOL VISITS

Guided Visits

We offer interactive guided tours around our exhibition for school groups. Tours are designed to engage students in observation skills and the development of critical thinking. To book a tour, please email info@ilhamgallery.com to make an appointment. Please take note that we need 7–10 days’ notice.

ILHAM KIDS!

We have put together a programme for tots and kids designed to encourage art appreciation, inspire curiosity, and develop observation and creative thinking skills in children. Please email info@ilhamgallery.com to register.

Art Discovery Tours for Kids

Our Art Discovery Tours for young visitors aged 5 to 18 years will be available for the exhibition period with special programmes curated for younger children.

For teens aged between 13 to 18 years, tours can be arranged if you have a group of at least 8 children, parent accompaniment is welcome and encouraged but not required.

Children’s Picture-Book Reading Session in collaboration With Me Books Asia

In this popular family session, our facilitators will read from 2 to 3 specially selected picture books from Me Books Asia that complement the content and themes of the current exhibition and Art Discovery Tours (book titles to be confirmed later).

The readings will be followed by a simple art activity to help drive home concepts shared during the session.

For kids aged 5 to 9 years (accompanied by a parent)

Mural painting with Antony Risi and Cinzia

This 3-hour workshop on mural painting will bring participants into the world of murals through the unique technique by Italian illustrator artist Antony Risi. The art piece will be exhibited at the Gift Shop entrance.

Create your own puppet with Cinzia Ciaramicoli

Participants will draw and make their own puppet guided by master puppeteer Cinzia Ciaramicoli from Italy. Children will choose an animal of the planet to save from global warming and draw it on paper. Using recycled fabric and decorative material, we will then create the puppet following the initial sketch.

MANGA Camp with Cinzia Ciaramicoli and Saad

A Holiday Camp for children aged 6 to 12 on storytelling, Manga drawings, puppetry, masks and theatre techniques. The theme “Manga Adventures” will be used to lead the young participants into a journey of exploration into Comic strips drawing and body expressions and living characters from Manga children’s stories.

Street Theatre with Cinzia Ciaramicoli and Saad

This 4-day workshop will bring back the concept of performing in public areas where the spectators will relate to the performance as a surprise in their daily life. Performing in streets will give performers the opportunity to meet people who are not used to going to theatres. We will be sharing our stilt-walking techniques, giant puppets making and manipulating and work on theatre character and presence.

Special Storytelling + Art Sessions in collaboration with Nor Azhar Ishak

Across The Sky

Award-winning author-illustrator-storyteller Nor Azhar Ishak will share the story from his brand new book, Across the Sky. The storytelling session will be followed by a guided mixed-media painting activity.

Under The Sea

Nor Azhar Ishak will engage with ILHAM kids using the beautiful batik pictures from his book Under the Sea. Children will get to make and take home their very own batik painting of a marine creature after the storytelling session. Come join Nor Azhar as he takes you and your kids on a magical journey under the sea!

Art-Inspired Coding Projects for Kids in collaboration with CodeJuniors

These unique and specially designed art-inspired coding projects for kids are done in collaboration with CodeJuniors. Through these innovative courses that include programmable robotics and logic promoting games and activities, kids will not only learn about art but also critical and creative thinking, problem solving skills and how to be self-sufficient learners.

Art-Inspired Coding & Robotics Project 1 (Yee I-Lann’s Kerbau)

Make a 3D water buffalo and combine this with a robot, then programme it to complete a maze challenge peppered with traffic cones.
