GUIDED VISITS
We offer interactive guided tours around our exhibition for school groups. Tours are designed to engage students in observation skills and the development of critical thinking. To book a tour, please email info@ilhamgallery.com to make an appointment. Please take note that we need 7–10 days’ notice.
We have put together a programme for tots and kids designed to encourage art appreciation, inspire curiosity, and develop observation and creative thinking skills in children. Please email info@ilhamgallery.com to register.
Our Art Discovery Tours for young visitors aged 5 to 18 years will be available for the exhibition period with special programmes curated for younger children.

Secrets of the Reunion Table
In this special workshop hosted by members of the Baba Nyonya Museum in Malacca, participants will get a peek into the typical scenes and spread found at the reunion table of a traditional Peranakan family. They will also be guided to explore and share with each other the traditions and cuisines found at the reunion tables of their own respective cultures through discussions and a unique paper cutting activity.

This year, we bring back our popular Children’s Picture Book Reading Sessions, where ILHAM kids will be introduced to 2 to 3 specially selected picture books that complement the content and themes of the current exhibition and Art Discovery Tours.
As we believe that picture books are a child’s first introduction to fine art, we will also highlight and briefly discuss the art of as well as the techniques used by each picture book illustrator for the books we read. The readings will be followed by a simple art activity to help drive home concepts shared during the session.
Our Art Discovery Tour facilitators will be reading and facilitating these sessions.

BY THE RIVER OF BORNEO
Come and meet local author Gwen Hew who will share her inspiration for, and read from her second book By The River of Borneo, a colourful sequel to The Wild Tree House of Borneo. The book revisits the beauty of the Malaysian rainforest and celebrates the wildlife of Sabah, as well as the culture of the Kadazan-Dusun people. The reading will be followed by a short art activity inspired by the book.
